TRAINING PROGRAM

      All horses while in training with Glyshaw Racing Stables will recieve equal care.  Top stakes horses to lower level claimers get equal personal care because each is an individual with their own unique personalities and problems.  Top care consist of high quality feed, hay, bedding of straw, medication for their legs/bodies, daily equipment for horses plus equipment for morning training, supplements and daily morning exercise at the track.  The quality items we use directly translate into how horses perform in their races.  "If you take care of them; they'll take care of you."  

    Each horse will recieve top veterinary care, be shod regularly by an expert ferrier, have regular check-ups from an equine dentist and will have chiropratic work performed when needed as well as periodic message treatments. 

For part of the year, Glyshaw Racing Stables is stabled at Turfway Park, where your horses can enjoy the benefits of training and racing on the Polytrack.  More and more tracks are switching to this synthetic surface.  Here are a few reasons horses love the Polytrack.

  • Its unique cushioning effect is "kind" to horses, helping reduce injuries to the back and legs and providing secure footing that still allows the "give" necessary for horses to perform to the best of their ability.
  • It maintains uniformity, even in various weather conditions.
